The Stardale Collection
Projects, stories, teachings, and insights gathered through years of work alongside Indigenous girls and young women.
Explore the experiences, approaches, and community knowledge that shaped Stardale and continue to inspire future community builders.
What Is The Stardale Collection?
The Stardale Collection is a digital collection of projects, stories, teachings, activities, reflections, and knowledge gathered through decades of community-based work.
Through videos, project examples, community stories, and reflection activities, participants gain insight into the approaches, relationships, and experiences that shaped Stardale's work with Indigenous girls and young women.
Rather than presenting a program to replicate, the collection invites participants to explore what was learned and consider how those insights might inform their own communities, organizations, schools, workplaces, and initiatives.
Why We Created The Collection
Many people want to better support Indigenous youth but are unsure where to begin.
Over the years, many people have asked:
How did Stardale do it?
The Stardale Collection was created to help answer that question.
It brings together the projects, teachings, stories, and experiences that shaped the work, creating a resource that can inform, inspire, and support future community builders.
The goal is not to recreate Stardale.
The goal is to share what was learned so others can adapt, build upon, and apply those insights within their own communities.
Through The Stardale Collection, participants will:
Gain insight into the experiences and approaches that helped Indigenous girls build confidence, connection, and leadership
Explore projects, activities, and initiatives developed through years of community-based work
Better understand the role of storytelling, culture, leadership, and connection in youth development
Learn from real-world examples of Indigenous-led community engagement
Discover ideas that can inform future programs, initiatives, and conversations
Reflect on how these insights might influence their own work and communities
What You’ll Gain
Inside The Collection
The collection is organized around four interconnected themes:
My Story Matters
My Story Can Help Others
My Story Can Create Change
Understanding Who I Am and Who I Can Become
Together, these themes explore identity, connection, leadership, cultural understanding, and future possibilities through the experiences of Stardale participants.
What Makes The Collection Different
The Stardale Collection is grounded in lived experience.
The stories, projects, and insights were not developed in theory. They emerged through relationships with Indigenous girls and young women and were guided by Elders, Knowledge Keepers, Ceremonialists, mentors, families, and community members.
Throughout the collection, participants encounter examples of storytelling, cultural connection, leadership development, community engagement, and personal growth that evolved through years of practice.
The collection captures both successes and challenges along the way, offering an honest look at how community-based change is built over time.
